Anesthesia Service Medical Group Employment Information:
- 260-member, physician-led, physician-owned, physician-only medical group established in San Diego since 1946
- Practices include:
- Nine full-service hospitals including Cardiac, Transplants, General OR, and OB
- 15 free-standing surgery centers, as well as office-based anesthesia
- New physicians rotate through the facilities where openings are available prior to matching
- Call responsibility shared equally with senior partners
- New physicians are on a 2-year shareholder track, with opportunities to participate in the governance of the group by joining committees that advise the Board of Directors
- Compensation uses a pooled, productivity-based system at the same rates as senior partners
- Self-insured for malpractice, providing significant savings
